Wayne Rifer


Mr. Rifer initiated and managed the Western Electronic Product Stewardship Initiative (WEPSI)—an EPA-funded multi-stakeholder process. He participated in the national negotiation to establish a recycling system for electronics—the National Electronic Product Stewardship Initiative (NEPSI).

Mr. Rifer also initiated and managed the stakeholder process to develop EPEAT (Electronics Product Environmental Assessment Tool), which is a procurement tool for environmentally preferable electronics. He is currently the EPEAT Manager of Operations and Stakeholder Relations (see http://www.epeat.net) and a member of the Board for the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation (RBRC).

As Principal of Rifer Environmental, Mr. Rifer provides consulting services in waste management and product stewardship.
