Nicole IsleSustainability Advisor, LEED AP Nicole Isle is a sustainability advisor at Brightworks where she specializes in integrated design strategies for single and multiple building projects as well as for conceptual master planning programs. Isle leads planning, design, and construction teams through this creative process with the use of several sustainability tools including LEED, The Natural Step, Living Building Challenge and Biomimicry in order to help define and integrate sustainability goals into each project. Her key strategy in realizing a more comprehensive level of sustainability is to engage teams early in the development process to maximize project value and client satisfaction. Isle has worked on a wide variety of building types including multi-family residential, hospitality, higher education, municipal, and office buildings ranging from 15,000 to 1 million square feet. She has diverse experience with single and multiple-building projects as well as university and community master plans in the U.S., Mexico and South East Asia. Isle's most recent project includes a 7,000-acre, near-zero carbon community located in South Korea. Isle has a degree in fisheries science and watershed ecology from Oregon State University and a master's in urban and regional planning from Portland State University. |
